Ewing Architects was established in 1972 and located in a renovated brick building structure in South Pasadena. Thirteen years later we renovated two circa 1905 structures in Pasadena and established our office space of over 5,000 SF. Ewing Architects is a full service architectural design firm specializing in site and master plan design, architectural design, interior design, building renovations and restoration design. We are also involved in the design of custom furniture, lighting and various fixtures for our projects. We have extensive experience in a wide variety of project types. Since 1972 over 1,000 projects have been designed by this office.
The firm is composed of a diverse group of professionals. The staff includes several project architects as well as specialists in interiors and master planning. Our two key architects have helped the firm grow since 1986. We have established a close association with structural, mechanical, electrical and civil engineering consultants with whom we work with on a consistent basis.

1) Master Planning

Ewing Architects has extensive experience in master planning over 160 projects in the U.S., Europe and Asia. We have programmed and planned recreational/resort /entertainment projects from 24 acres to over 2700 acres. We have master planned mixed use and residential projects as well as community and civic development projects.

2) Architectural Design

Architectural design is our passion and diversity of style is what keeps it interesting and challenging for us. This office has designed over 1000 projects of numerous uses, types, sizes and architectural styles including modern, contemporary, rustic, Arts and Crafts, Spanish, Mediterranean and themed. Creating a style specific to a client's needs and incorporating sustainable design practices to save energy is what we strive for. We also have extensive experience in building restoration and renovation.

3) Interior Architecture

Interior architecture is the process of creating a three dimensional space within a building shell. It starts with space planning and ends with color and material selection. Ewing Architects provides interior architectural design as an integral part of our service packageâ€”both for new projects and tenant improvements to existing buildings.

4) Space Planning & Interior Furnishings

Ewing Architects has space planned dozens of corporate office facilities, restaurants, civic centers and municipal buildings among other project types. We also provide furniture design and selection for these types of projects.

5) Furniture, Fixture, Casework & Lighting Design

Designing custom furniture and fixture design, as well as lighting and hardware design for custom fabrication, is commonly provided in our high-end projects. Light fixtures, casework, door hardware, tables, chairs, display systems, bars, wine cellars, and iron work are examples of some of our work displayed in our projects on this website.
