Home Inspector in Mentor, Ohio

After reviewing all of the reviews on this site, I figured I would contact John about a commercial building I was purchasing. He did a fantastic job, as well as teach me a few things. I highly recommend John and will be recommending him to all my friends and family!

After spending the last several weeks having roofers provide me with quotes to re-roof my house, I was scared since their plans were vast and riddled with BS. Ridge vents, circulation fans, new insulation shingle warranty’s that will be void if you don’t follow the manufacturer’s guidelines etc... etc… All scare tactics to take your money AND potentially cause MAJOR DAMAGE to your home. I was looking for a neutral party with extensive knowledge in housing so I contacted John. After he looked at my attic rafters, sheeting and insulation to name a few my initial suspicions of the roofers BS tactics were confirmed. My house was built in 1967 and does not need a new ventilation system. This was confirmed by John which has set my mind at ease. In addition, I now have a definite plan in place to have my house reroofed. Thank you John and take care. JW

John was recommended to me by a friend, and I am so grateful that he was. On the day of inspection he arrived early and immediately began working. As he moved throughout the house he was pointing out things that were positive as well as pointing out minor issues and how to repair them. He took detailed notes and immediately gave me a hard copy. His inspection was exceptionally well done and he was able to address any concerns I may have had. I highly recommend him!

John was recommended to me by mother’s co-worker after an offer I made on a house in Lyndhurst had been accepted. John was very easy to get a hold of, and he was extremely flexible with scheduling a time for the inspection that would accommodate my busy schedule. On the day of the inspection, I was very satisfied to see John arrive early and prepared. John was diligent with the inspection, and took detailed notes and pictures of some of areas of concern. These notes and pictures were provided to me via email within a few hours after the inspection so that I had them for my records. In addition to the email, I also received a hard copy of the report. Every bit of John’s inspection was professional, and his ability to identify concerns with the home truly demonstrated his expertise and experience. Overall, I was I was very much appreciative of John’s services, and I would highly recommend John to anyone in need of a thorough home inspection. Thank you, John!

John was recommended to my fianceee and me through a family friend after we had an offer accepted on a house we bid on. On the day of the inspection, he arrived early and was very prepared. As we started in the basement and proceeded to move around the rest of the house, he was very meticulous and thorough. He would explain me to me not only all of the issues that he found, but how the issue probably came about, how to fix it, and approximately how much it would cost to fix them. Because of John's findings, we were able to negotiate a lower cost on the house as we were able to prove to the seller that there were concerns that needed to be addressed. My fiancee and I truly appreciate John's help and would highly recommend him as he honestly has the buyer's best interests at heart. Thank you!

I am in the process of purchasing a bar/restaurant. John did a thorough inspection of the building and the equipment. Most other inspectors that I called either did not do commercial buildings or wouldn't test the equipment. John did an excellent job and his report was easy to read and understand and he took pictures to reference the deficiencies. I recommend highly recommend John, whether you are purchasing residential or commercial.

John was on time,even early and was well prepared for the entire inspection. He knew where to look and exactly what to look for,including moving objects that reveiled a few minor issues that I would have missed. He was VERY through,even for the square footage,small,he was inspecting. He wasn't afraid to get down,and up and dirty to conduct his inspection,and did not rush through the process. Price was very good. I would recommend John to anyone. A pleasure to work with and meet. Thank you John.

I'm new to Ohio and worried I would not find an inspector that cared as much about my new house as I do...I worried for nothing! John was thorough and I appreciated his efforts to identify potential concerns and issues. He also took the time to explain his findings, some options, and the implications if corrections were not made...I feel armed to work with the seller to get everything resolved. Thanks John!

John was prompt, thorough, detail oriented, and looked at items previous home inspectors never paid attention to. I would recommend him to anyone needing a home inspection. He is looking out for your safety and making sure you are making a sound investment.
