Since 2001, Music on Grant Studios has taught over 40,000 private music lessons, on all instruments, to all ages, in a pleasant, friendly, homey enviornment! We are located conveniently 2 blocks from downtown Crawfordsville and the Wabash College campus. All instruments and voice are taught in 2 separate studios in half hour increments at $21 each.' Music-reading, theory and performance skills are emphasized. Two optional recitals are performed each year: In March, one week prior to the National Federated Music Club Festival and at the end of June, outdoors in the beautiful Pavillion on the grounds of historic Lane Place, in Crawfordsville. 'The Music Festival, sponsored by the National Federation of Music Clubs, is held mid-March each year. Students may participate in solos, ensembles, music theory, sight-reading, hymn-playing, patriotic and folk songs. Points toward trophies and ribbons are awarded which are acculmulative from year to year. The Festival is open to all ages, including adults.'Students are recorded monthly to encourage practice and to note improvement. At the end of the year, a CD is made for each student to share with family and friends.'Each month, 2 students are selected as ""Students of the Month"". They are listed on Facebook and on our website and given a certificate and treated to appetizers at Applebee's Restaurant. 'Weekly, half-hour lessons at $21, are offered to all ages. Instructional materials can all be purchased in our studios.

Barbara Wilson, MME Indiana University, Jacobs School of Music and Pamela Myers, Ozark Bible College music studies, share their love of music, teaching young and old how to play all the instruments. Pamela's expertise is with beginning piano, guitar, banjo, mandolin and ukulele. Barbara teaches intermediate through advanced on all instruments.

1) Teaching Private Music Lessons
All instruments, including voice, are taught. Emphasis is on note-reading skills and recommended practice techniques.
2) Recitals
A formal Recital is presented in March at the Wabash Ave Presbyterian Church in Crawfordsville. Students perform solos and ensembles on a variety of instruments and voice. March 8, 2015 is the date at 2:00 PM.
In June, a casual, outdoor Recital is presented at the beautiful Lane Place Gazebo near downtown Crawfordsville. Lighter music is performed in mostly duets and larger groups. Students wear T-shirts and shorts. Audiences listen from lawn chairs under the shade of large oak trees on the grounds of historic Lane Place. June 28 is this year's recital at 2:00 PM.
3) National Federation Of Music Clubs Festival
Festival will be March 14, 2015 at Bethesda Christian Schools, 7950 N Co Rd 650E in Brownsburg. Over 30 students will be performing from Music on Grant Studios. Trophies and ribbons will be awarded for the best performances. Good luck everyone!
4) Monthly Recordings
To encourage practice even when there is not a recital or festival pending, we record students monthly. At the beginning of the month we select a piece to be recorded. During the month students practice their recording selection and then the final lessons of the month, we digitally record students. At the end of the year, recordings are down-loaded to computer and CD's are burned for each student. This is a good way to note progress and encourage practice.
5) Students Of The Month
Each month Barb and Pam select one of their students who has shown remarkable progress during the previous month. These would be the students who practice regulary and attend lessons each week. Each student receives a Certificate of Musical Merit, an Applebee's coupon for free appetizers, and they are listed on our website as well as on our business Facebook page.
STUDENTS OF THE MONTH FOR MARCH 2015: Miss Barb's choice is LAUREN HALE, percussion. Lauren has been taking lessons since June of 2014 and hasn't missed a single lesson! She loves playing the snare drum in particular. Lauren will be participating in our Spring Recital and the Music Festival this month. Miss Pam's choice is Grant Hopkins. Grant takes 2 lessons per week and manages to find the time to practice everyday, in addition to school and farming. He loves playing the guitar! Congratulations to LAUREN & GRANT!

I have had all 5 of my girls, at one point or another, taking lessons from Barb and Pam for over 5 years. They're dedication to teaching my kids, their knowledge, and their patience has keep my family coming back. They have even been kind enough to include me to play in a recital! They are very understanding of our crazy schedule and work with us so that the kids don't have to miss a lesson. I wouldn't have my kids taking lessons from anyone else. Thank you Pam and Barb for all you have done to help my children grow, both musically and in maturity.

My son used to take lessons from another instructor, and I could tell he was never motivated to practice. After taking lessons at Music on Grant, it is obvious that his playing has improved tremendously. Every week, he is excited to attend his guitar lessons with Barb Wilson. Her teaching is very structured, exciting, and impressive. She caters to her student's playing style and needs. My son has more recently began playing in a guitar quartet with Barb and Pam, a group that is very excited to be a part of They are both very talented musicians and instructors.
