Why do engines from Japan have low miles ?
It is very expensive to own a car in Japan. Gasoline, Highway tolls, Labor, cost of repairs & insurance cost up to 4 times more than US. One needs parking permit before they purchase a car, average parking in a commercial area is over $500 per month. Japanese vehicles have less miles in comparison to the US. So, a 10 year old car in Japan might have 50,000 miles on the engine compared to 150,000 on US engine. There are no after-market parts, very few body shops and no Salvage yards like in the U.S. It is not uncommon to spend $150/day to use a car. Most people use their cars on weekends & take shin-kansen (bullet train) or subway to work. Moreover all Japanese cars go through a stringent bi-annual inspection called SHAKEN. The cost of complying with these tests can run as much as 30% of the vehicle value. Cars with minor body damage are considered unsafe. There are few cars over 6 years old in service. Cars are recycled early. Compound these costs with propensity of Japanese consumers to drive only the latest models. The result is vehicles with tremendously low mileage are recycled. Vehicles in Japan suffer quick depreciation as cost of repairs is extremely high. Ross was able to diagnose and fix my ignition issue with my Honda immediately. He was very courteous and didn't treat me like Beaverton and Hillsboro Honda did. I felt respected here both personally and with my time. I will recommend this shop and will definitely come back if/when I have a need. Thank you again, Ross!

This garage is great. Very courteous, does a great job and fast turn around. I had my scion towed when it did not want to start. It was the battery and the car was ready within an hour. And then needed a new gas cap. Got it at toyota and they swicht it for me and reset the computer and did not charge me. These 2 brothers are wonderful and my new BFF.

Really fast and a lot more affordable then other shops in the area. They were very professional and explained everything to me before starting any work on my truck. Told me what could wait and what needed my attention soon. Will be taking all my cars to them from now on.

had my old engine replaced with a used engine with about 50,000 miles on it. toyota tacoma with 600'000 miles on it.engine runs as good as new, 1 week to replace ,on time for what they told me how long it would take.all is great,runs good, driven 11,000 miles already and zero problems. i was a mechanic in the past couldnt have done a better job myself. good price,quick turn around, very happy with everything.

very helpful and real people, a friend recommended me to these fine folks and they were just that, they even gave me a ride home after seeing me struggling with finding a ride home, and yes they also picked me up when my car was ready. yup they did. My car runs like it supposed to run like so glad i found a shop i can trust and not only that they are very honest and real!
