Dr. Jessica Ransonet Murrell
Therapeutic Optometrist
Optometric Glaucoma Specialist

Dr. Jessica Murrell is a 2004 graduate of Texas A&M University, where she earned her bachelor of science degree in Nutritional Sciences. She then attended the University of Houston College of Optometry where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2008. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society and teaching assistant while attending U of H optometry school. Dr. Murrell has received externship training at Herman Memorial hospital in the managing of retinal pathology, glaucoma and cataracts. She also received co-management experience in LASIK and cataract surgery. Her other practice interests are contact lens fitting and pediatric care. Dr. Murrell is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the Texas Optometric Association and also the Harris County Optometric Society. Dr. Murrell resides in The Woodlands and enjoys spending her time with her husband and young son. She also enjoys traveling, exercising, and balancing a healthy lifestyle.


Steve Phinney
Optician

With over 42 years in the Optical field, Steve is one of the most experienced Opticians in the Houston area. His past experiences as a lab technician, dispensing optician and an optical shop manager provide our patients with excellent care for their optical needs. Whether you need a new set of frames or help adjusting your current set, Mr. Phinney has you covered. With over 24 years working at the clinic, he is familiar with each of our patients and their individual needs. Steve is the proud father of 5 daughters and in his spare time enjoys woodworking, camping and ranching.


Carol Gonzales
Office Manager / Contact Lens Technician

Carol is the Office Manager at Executive Eye Care. She handles the everyday activites of the practice that keep us up and running. Carol has worked with the company for 12 years and if you have ever called or visited the office, her smiling face was probably the first you encountered. In addition to running daily activites, she is here to assist patients with their contact needs from ordering to proper handling and care. Carol is a native Houstonian, with a daughter currently attending the University of Texas. In her free time she enjoys cooking and reading.

Certifications

1) Comprehensive Eye Exam

The American Optometry Association recommends yearly Comprehensive Eye Exams for all individuals. A comprehensive exam includes a case history, your refractive status, the health status of the visual system, your binocular function (or how the eyes work together) and a diagnosis and treatment plan. This exam is designed to detect a wide range of problems that could affect your eye health and vision.

Dr. Murrell is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. During each visit, she will check your eyes for potential eye disorders and diseases such as dry eyes, allergies, glaucoma, cateracts, and macular degeneration. Systemic health disorders such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and multiple sclerosis can affect the health of your eyes and will also be assessed. We will verify your visual abilities and recommend appropriate treatment.

Dr. Murrell's emphasis will be on patient care and she will value the time she gets to visit with you. We know the pace of the downtown working life. We promise to schedule ample time for your visit to address every patient's concerns and needs. Dr. Murrell strives to care for her patients in a professional and efficient manner.

2) Contact Lens Fittings

Executive Eye Care offers the latest in contact lenses, including rigid gas permeable lenses, monovision, bifocals, progressive and daily contact lenses. Dr. Murrell can help fit you with a pair of lenses that are right for you. After each eye exam we will discuss your options and preferences to determine the best product for your optical needs.

Our office provides emergency services for eye infections and injuries, we will schedule you for a same day appointment to ensure proper treatment. Whether it's red eye, acute vision loss, pain, light sensitivity or a lodged foreign body, Dr. Murrell will assess the injury and recommend a plan for treatment which may include medication and supportive care. We will follow up with you throughout the treatment to ensure your eye health and proper recovery.

5) Optical Dispensing

Whether your needs are professional or recreational we can help you find the "right look" for your new glasses. With over 700 frames on hand and the ability to order from many different brand lines we are your one stop shop for optical needs. Our Optician Steve Phinney has over 40 years experience dispensing optical products and will help adjust your frames ensuring superior fit and the upmost comfort. We understand you NEED your glasses. With our in-house laboratory, we are capable of fabricating glasses, tinting, coating, hardening and edging your spectacle lenses in a short time. We also offer courtesy adjustments and cleaning to customers.
