Joel M. Reicherter holds the rank of Professor Emeritus with an expertise in anatomy and physiology. During his long and distinguished career in teaching human anatomy and physiology to allied health care students, he received his certification to practice polygraph from SUNY certified by the American Polygraph Association in 1983.

Professor Reicherter is currently an adjunct instructor at the U.S. Department for Credibility Assessment, Ft. Jackson, S.C. formally the Department of Defense Polygraph Institute. All federal agencies including the FBI,CIA, Secret Service are trained at the Institute to become polygraph examiners.
Professor Reicherter has previously taught at the American International Institute of Polygraph, Texas Department of Public Safety and other polygraph schools. He holds the rank of Professor Emeritus in Physiology and Anatomy from SUNY
Professor Reicherter has administered polygraph examinations in such high profile cases as Amy Fisher, Marty Tankleff, NFL players, and was the polygraph consultant for the motion picture, Meet the Parents. His primary polygraph practice is on Long Island and in the New York metropolitan area but will travel to other venues as needed. He administers polygraph examinations for attorneys, businesses, and individuals involved in personal or domestic disputes.
Professor Reicherter has been Court Certified to offer expert testimony in the subject area of polygraph.
