=RSI= is the gateway to a world of x-ray resources. Our network of engineers, medical physicists, architects, and legal counsel offer to professionals, in both the industrial and healing arts communities, a variety and level of service unattainable elsewhere.

=RSI= helps clients get ready for state health department x-ray inspections. We handle all the details of x-ray regulatory compliance, so that clients can focus on what they do best: providing patient care. =RSI= clients are so well prepared that a typical visit by a state inspector takes only about 20 minutes. We attend our client's state inspections at no charge. And, it is rare for an =RSI= client to score less than 100%.

While we direct most of our efforts toward preventing problems with the state health department, many facilities often turn to =RSI= for the first time only after receiving a Notice of Violation, Cease and Desist Order, Revocation of Registration, or X-Ray Equipment Impound Order. The =RSI= network of engineers, licensed medical physicists, and legal counsel are particularly adept at minimizing the impact of Escalated Enforcement on a facility, and skilled at bringing such matters to a swift and fair conclusion.

If there truly is a problem, =RSI= will effect its resolution in the most economical manner. However, it is not unusual for our team to find violations alleged by the state which have little or no merit. We vigorously defend clients who find themselves involved in Administrative Hearings or being assessed Administrative Penalties (fines).

=RSI= conducts x-ray Equipment Performance Evaluations (sometimes referred to as "calibrations") which are required every 2 years for medical and chiropractic facilities, every 4 years for dental and podiatric facilities, and every 10 years for veterinary facilities. We also conduct annual Radiation Safety Surveys on industrial, and cabinet x-ray machines.

=RSI= designs x-ray room radiation shielding for new construction. We also test and recertify the integrity of existing shielding. We conduct acceptance testing of newly installed x-ray equipment to make sure it has been assembled correctly, and that clients get everything they pay for.

Past and ongoing projects include such clients as Kindred Hospital, The Center for Pain Relief, RiceTec (Texmatti and RiceSelect brands), Discover Financial Group (Discover Card) Integrated Logistics Services / NASA Johnson Space Center, Wilson Radiographics, Medical Examiners Offices of both Harris and Nueces Counties, US HealthWorks, Del Mar College, Brenham State School, Wharton County Junior College, Government of Israel Economic Office, X-Ray On Wheels, Inspectorate, Det Norske Veritas (DNV Petroleum Services), Covance Research Products, and South Texas Cost Containment to name a few.

But, most of =RSI='s clients are prominent physicians in private dental, medical, chiropractic, podiatric, and veterinary practice.

=RSI= began in 1983 as Radiological Systems Services. The company, which incorporated in 1992 as Radiological Systems, Inc., is currently under the leadership of Robert W. "Bob" Schaer. Mr. Schaer began his career in 1974 with the Gilbert X-Ray Company of Texas. He later joined Compagnie Generale de Radiologie (CGR). Mr. Schaer has served in the Radiology Departments of both The Methodist Hospital and Park Plaza Hospital in Houston. He is the founder of the Medical Imaging Service Group within the Clinical Engineering Department of St. Joseph Hospital in Houston.

1) X-ray Equipment Performance Evaluation (calibration)

=RSI= conducts tests on x-ray machines which are required by Texas Regulations for Control of Radiation:

- every 2 years for medical and chiropractic facilities,

- every 4 years for dental and podiatric facilities,

- every 5 years for veterinary facilities.

2) Film & Digital Imaging Quality Assurance / Quality Control (qa/qc)

=RSI= conducts the QA/QC tests which are now required by regulation to be performed periodically at x-ray facilities. This applies to both film and digital radiography.

=RSI= designs shielding for new construction. We also conduct itegrity tests of new shielding to make sure it was constructed properly. When certification documdents of existing shielding have been lost, =RSI= provides a recertification service.
