Architect in Gualala, California
Business Description
Michael Barron-Wike was educated in architecture at the University of California, Berkeley, Collge of Environmental Design. He first gained his insights into sensitive envrionmental design from his professors at that school, two of whom, Lawrence Halprin and Joseph Esherick, conceived the concept for The Sea Ranch, a northern California development nearby where Michael Barron-Wike AIA now lives and has practiced his profession for many years. Evolving the basic concepts taught to him by these industry icons, Michael Barron-Wike has evolved these principles further with his early embracing of the beginnings of the passive solar design movement. His current projects include sustainable, "green-rated" designs with the goal of "Zero Carbon Footprints" energy usage. Passive solar design, and meticulously detailed structures built to withstand the harsh elements of a coastline environment are pivotal points for most of Michael Barron-Wike's work. Only the latest building methods and materials are used to ensure solid, fire-proof, durable, contemporary designs, both outside and inside the structures. His designs are award-winning and have been published in both local, national, and international periodicals.

Mission Statement
Michael Barron-Wike Architect AIA is based in Gualala, CA and has been serving the northcoast since 1989. For many years, he has designed "sustainable" residential designs, and now "zero carbon fooprint" homes are all up and down the Mendocino and Sonoma county coastlines. Every project is designed to be environmentally compatible with its setting and uses that reflect the needs of his clients. The primary focus of design for this climate has been the desire to develop a complete understanding of what is needed to create and build beautiful and durable structures that can integrate completely into this environment. No architectural firm in this area has as much experience designing homes incorporating passive solar design whenever possible and the most energy-efficient, fire-proof exteriors possible. Once these concepts have been included into a totally cohesive design, all of these concepts are then introduced to the clients, using the latest in 3D design presentation technologies and virtual reality walkthroughs. Existing views photographs are included into the views from inside these proposed designs, enabling the client to "see" exactly what they will experience in the completed home. Now is the time to consider a new "green" home or remodel for your next project, for now and for the future of this planet.
