Kevin Roberts received his Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Harvard University in 1980, where he was involved in the Institute of Politics, worked as a paralegal for the Massachusetts Special Commission on State and County Buildings, and was active in crew and track. He later received his Juris Doctorate from Case Western Reserve University in 1986.

As a member of the United States Navy, he fulfilled his duty above and beyond expectations, and departed from service with an Honorable Discharge.

As a trial lawyer, he tried several dozen cases to verdict, and fought for numerous multi-million dollar settlements and verdicts. He took hundreds of depositions throughout the nation, and has clients from Ohio, Massachusetts, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Florida, Ontario, Oklahoma, and Zambia.

He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, and is admitted to practice law in Ohio and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

In 1981, he started working at Squire, Sanders & Dempsey LLP in Cleveland, Ohio, as a Legal Assistant in their Litigation Department. There he became the Primary Legal Assistant in Central National Bank v. Dow Chemical Company, where he was responsible for maintaining over 20,000 documents and 2,000 exhibits, preparing attorneys for dozens of depositions, coordinating expert reports and data, and knowing the contents of 45 depositions which totaled in over 10,000 pages. He then worked as a Summer Associate of their Litigation, Corporations, Bond and Labor Departments before becoming an Associate in their Litigation Department in 1986. There he represented victims of the Sarabond product against Dow Chemical Company, and took depositions in Chicago, Boston, Cleveland, and other locations.

Later, he became part of the pro bono death penalty defense team which successfully obtained the reduction of a client’s penalty from death down to a 20 year sentence (State of Mississippi v. Lazaro Faraga).

In 1989, he joined The Spangenberg Law Firm in Cleveland, Ohio, as a Senior Associate, where he was involved in major litigation representing victims of personal injury or wrongful death due to products liability. He also handled cases involving medical malpractice, workplace intentional torts, commercial litigation, and vehicle or train collisions.

In addition, he served as defense counsel for a major Ohio law firm in a legal malpractice case. He developed a docket of over 110 cases and was counsel of record in several reported cases. He tried several cases to verdict, over a dozen of which resulted in seven figure recoveries for victims and/or their families.

In 1993 he established The Roberts Law Firm in Cleveland, Ohio, as Head of the Firm. He has been involved in litigation and trials in the areas of employment, medical malpractice, white collar crime, construction, franchises, hotels, securities, internet domain name issues, personal injury, etc., against opposing counsel from major local and national law firms.

He represented widows, children, families, the elderly, the sick, the injured, victims of race, age, sex and religious discrimination, as well as college professors, contractors, AmTrust Bank, Hanna Mining Corporation, Grove Court Condominium Owners’ Association, Southington Hunt Club, BBC Weapons Armory, IIT International, Twinsburg Travel, Auburn Environmental, Global Readers Service, Lora Enterprises, the NY Designer MoMoFaLana, and other businesses. In 2007, he moved his practice to his hometown of Olmsted Falls, Ohio.

He appeared as lecturer for the Lorman Continuing Legal Education Seminar and before the Cleveland Academy of Trial Attorneys, and has given over 60 presentations to the Rotary Clubs of the Cleveland District and the Johannesburg, South Africa District (as part of a Group Study Exchange Trip to South Africa).

In his spare time he enjoys rowing, bicycling, target shooting, scuba diving, motorcycling, and traveling. He and his wife Hilary have two children.
