If you are missing teeth and having trouble speaking or chewing, or are noticing strain when biting, bridges may be the ideal procedure to help make your mouth healthy and beautiful again. Bridges literally "bridge" gaps between teeth by filling them with strong, natural-looking artificial teeth. Bridges are semi-permanent - they can only be removed by a dentist - and are comfortable and proven to strengthen teeth.

Tooth-Colored Composite Restorations - Gone are the days when tooth trauma and cavities could only be treated with unsightly metal fillings. Today, modern, tooth colored fillings made of durable resin can be bonded to your teeth for a stronger, more natural-looking effect. Composite fillings are virtually undetectable and require only a single appointment to apply.

Bleaching or Teeth Whitening - Many of us feel that our smiles are most striking when our teeth look especially white, but unfortunately, soft drinks, coffee, tea, and tobacco can leave behind ugly stains. To help you restore your gleaming, bright white smile and to give you an added boost of confidence, we offer many options, such as custom whitening kits. Please contact us today to find out more about these options and which one is best for you.

Crowns - Crowns are a type of dental restoration which, when cemented into place, fully covers that portion of a tooth which lies at and above the gum line. In comparison, composite fillings/inlays/onlays are dental restorations that are used to fill in or cover over just a portion of a tooth. Since dental crowns encase the entire visible aspect of a tooth, a dental crown in effect becomes the tooth's new outer surface.

Crowns are used to rebuild broken or decayed teeth, to strengthen teeth, and as a means by which to enhance the cosmetic appearance of teeth. Crowns can be made out of porcelain/ceramic, gold alloy, or a combination of both. Dental crowns are often referred to as "dental caps."

Bridges - If you are missing teeth and having trouble speaking or chewing, or are noticing strain when biting, bridges may be the ideal procedure to help make your mouth healthy and beautiful again. Bridges literally “bridge†gaps between teeth by filling them with strong, natural-looking artificial teeth. Bridges are semi-permanent - they can only be removed by a dentist - and are comfortable.

Invisible Braces - If you've suffered from crooked teeth for long enough, but are put off by the thought of wearing traditional metal braces, [Dentist's Name] has another option that might just work for you: Invisalign invisible braces.

Using the most innovative technology in dentistry today, Invisalign uses a series of comfortable, removable, transparent aligners to gradually straighten your teeth. Why wait another day to take the first step toward straighter teeth and a more beautiful smile? Contact our office and ask us about Invisalign.

Implant Restoration - Dr. Don E. Secrest performs dental implant restoration by attaching artificial teeth to implants anchored in the bone below the gum line. After the anchor has been surgically placed in the jawbone, excess bone and gum grow around the implant, holding it firmly in place.

Porcelain Inlays/Onlays - Porcelain inlays and onlays are a very aesthetic alternatives to composite fillings. They have a high degree of strength, and as such, are excellent for restoring weakened back teeth. Inlays and onlays protect and restore large portions of decayed, heavily restored tooth, or teeth under very heavy load (i.e. back teeth). Unlike crowns, they only cover a portion of the tooth, and are therefore more conservative on the amount of tooth preparation required.

They are made with porcelain, customized to your natural tooth shade, and look like your natural tooth. Porcelain inlays and onlays are made from the same strong, tooth colored material that is used for crowns and bridgework. A customized shade makes them virtually undetectable. The main differences between tooth-colored composite restoration and inlay/onlays is that the latter are fabricated using a laboratory process and differing materials, thereby making them stronger and more durable.

Poprcelain Veneers - An excellent alternative to crowns, porcelain veneers can perfect your smile by masking stains, hiding chips, correcting misalignment, and creating uniformity. Veneers, which are made of thin, customized material, are designed to slide over the teeth, look incredibly natural, are long-lasting, and are relatively easy to apply.

Extractions - In only the most extreme and necessary cases, such as when its roots are damaged beyond repair, we may extract a tooth in preparation for a restorative dentistry procedure, such as dentures or implants.

Full Mouth Restoration - If you suffer with discolored, missing, worn or damaged teeth, you know how everyday things-like eating lunch or even smiling at a friend-can be painful, uncomfortable, or even embarrassing.

Things like improper dentistry or an overall level of neglect can create the need for comprehensive restorative treatment, or full mouth restoration. During a full mouth restoration, [Dentist name] will use a variety of restorative and cosmetic procedures to bring your mouth to a healthy, beautiful state. Depending on your specific situation, you may benefit from veneers, crowns, bridges, periodontal or endodontic therapies, or even dental implants and other dental work.

Orthodontics & Orthopedics - Though some may use the terms interchangeably, there is a difference between orthopedics and orthodontics.

Orthopedics is typically the first step in the process of remedying maloccluded (e.g. crowded or improperly aligned) teeth in children and in some cases, the right orthopedic treatment can actually negate the need for orthodontic treatment entirely. Functional orthopedics are typically short term, removable therapies like retainers or similar devices aimed at promoting appropriate facial growth and jaw structure. Orthopedics deal with both genetic malocclusion and the much more common environmental malocclusion related to poor tongue position, allergies, enlarged tonsils, or even mouth breathing.

Early orthopedic treatment can increase the chances for normal development, and can also discourage potentially destructive behaviors (like mouth breathing) before they turn into habits or have a negative influence on other aspects of your child's life, like their sleep.

Orthodontics, on the other hand, typically involves bonding braces to the teeth as a way to gradually move the tooth into a straighter, less crowded pattern. Unlike orthopedics, orthodontic devices are semi-permanent and may need to be work for months or years to achieve.

Root Canal Therapy - Each of our teeth contains a long, thin strand of dental pulp-which provides the tooth with nutrients and nerves-that extends down to the tooth's root. If the pulp becomes infected or injured, the tooth's nerves die and, often, without endodontic treatment, the tooth dies as well. Root canals are designed to save such damaged teeth.

During the procedure, a gap is drilled into the tooth's crown and pulp chamber, diseased pulp is reshaped or removed, and the tooth is permanently sealed with a gold, porcelain, or tooth-colored inlay/onlay or crown.
