Mission Statement

Up the Creek Ladies Consignment Boutique's mission is to provide gently used higher end clothing for sale in a warm and inviting environment. We also offer opportunities to local vendors to sell their crafts, artwork, and designs. Combining that with a selection of antiques, collectibles, and refurbished furniture we hope to be a one stop shop of unique finds at one of a kind prices.

We are former managers with Coldwater Creek and when the company decided to close their doors we took the opportunity to open a consignment business in Owego, NY. We opened Feb 8th, 2015 in a location on 17C in Owego and quickly grew out of that store. When the location at 163 Main St opened up in downtown Owego we knew it was the opportunity we had been looking for to expand our business and we moved into that location June 1st, 2016. Since then we have increased our customer, consignor, and vendor base.

Consignment Contract
• Consignment can be brought in on Monday’s and Thursday’s
• We accept 10 items at a time
• We accept clothing and accessories by season. If you are unsure of what season we are accepting please call before you come in
• We accept clothing, shoes, purses, scarves, hats, and belts. We accept jewelry on a very limited basis as we have multiple jewelry vendors in the store
• If you want to consign antiques or other vintage items from your home ask us about our Free Form Vendor Contract.
• Consignment must be brought in either in a bag or on hangers. This will help us be better organized.
• Consignment must be of current or recent fashion. At this time we are not carrying vintage clothing. We will however accept vintage hats and purses.
• Clothing must be clean, pressed, stain and damage free. Since we take a quick look at your items when you drop them off we reserve the right to donate anything that we may find later to be unsalable.
• Shoes and Handbags must be clean and in close to new condition. .
• Your consignment remains active in our inventory for 45 days. Then your items are in an “Ingrace” period for 15 days. We may choose to markdown your items at this point. At 60 days your items are expired.
• Brands we do not accept unless they still have their store tags on them:
Old Navy, Fashion Bug, Deb, Croft & Barrow, anything from Walmart, Kmart, or Target.

Fees and Payments
• We offer a 40/60 split with you the consignor receiving 40%.
• Consignment payouts are done by the 5th of each month.
• We do not mail checks or notify you of your payout.
• We charge a $2 fee monthly for as long as you have current inventory with us. This fee enables you to have online access to your account.
• Our consignment program has an online access feature. After we enter your items into the inventory you will receive an email from Consignor Access and the email will contain directions on how to log in to your account.
• We do accept all credit cards for payment and this is very costly. If a customer purchases your item and pays with a credit card there will be a 3% fee charged to that item. If a customer pays with cash or check there is no fee.
• The money you earn from the sales of your items can also be used as credit towards a purchase in our store. This can be done anytime.
• Promotions and sales happen weekly. We will strive to get you the best price possible for your items but be aware that they may sell at a lower price than what you see on your account online.

What You Can Expect From Us:
• We will provide a warm and inviting environment for people to shop in for your items
• We will do our best to prevent shoplifting
• We do not insure your items. We cannot be held responsible for flood, fire, theft, or other acts of nature.
• We will use marketing and other events to promote and feature your items.
