We are a full service veterinary hospital in Central Virgina. Our hospital includes a complete in-house laboratory, x-ray, therapeutic laser, pharmacy, and a complete surgical / dental suite. Gordonsville Vet also has a certified acupuncturist, Dr. Cunningham, to provide acupuncture therapy for clients interested in alternative treatments for their pets. The experience and knowledge of our veterinary doctors and staff allow us to provide the best possible compassionate care to your pet with a high level of service to you.

Gordonsville Veterinary Hospital was founded in April, 1999 by Donna Ackerman, DVM. We are a full service veterinary hospital with two full time veterinarians and a part time veterinarian who have been providing quality veterinary services to the local communities of Orange, Louisa, Greene, Albermarle, Charlottesville,& Spotsylvania for a combined total of more than 30 years!

1) Wellness Exams/ Vaccines

It is vital to have an annual complete physical exam and routine vaccines performed on your pet to ensure a long and healthy life. As your pet approaches their senior years, bi-annual exams with comprehensive care that includes lab-work for a complete health screening is important. This allows the veterinarian to be able to quickly identify any disease states and treat them faster with a better outcome.

2) Surgery/dentistry

We perform routine spays, neuters, dentistry and a variety of other surgeries ranging from simple lump removals to more advance procedures. Your pets well being is the utmost importance to us. We have a licensed vet tech monitoring anesthesia and your pets' vital signs during all anesthetic procedures.

3) Therapeutic Laser/acupuncture

X-rays can be beneficial for your animal and you, which will help with diagnosis of various conditions. You will be able to view the images taken and the veterinarian will discuss with you options of treatment if applicable. We also perform OFA x-rays of hips and elbows.

5) Ear Crops

Ear Cropping is a veterinary procedure known as cosmetic otoplasty. We perform ear crops on puppies between 9 & 12 weeks of age and specific breeds need to have a Von Wildebrands test prior to scheduling. We do ear crops on Dobermans, Great Danes, Boxers, and Schnauzer puppies only.
